The Klean Group — Our Parent Company
The Klean Group
Klean Recycling is wholly owned by Klean Industries. Part of the Klean Group, our electronics recycling operation sits inside a wider resource-recovery business that designs, engineers and delivers industrial facilities for converting waste streams into materials and energy.
Why the parent matters
Electronics recycling is an engineering problem before it is a collection problem. Devices are bonded, mixed-material assemblies built to be used rather than unmade, and separating them into saleable fractions requires process design, not goodwill. Belonging to a group whose core business is building resource-recovery plants gives our urban mining work access to that discipline: define the feed, engineer the separation, prove the output has a market.
Shared circular-economy thinking
The Klean Industries portfolio spans resource-recovery and waste-conversion projects delivered internationally, alongside services covering feasibility studies, turn-key delivery, plant design and engineering, supply-chain management and carbon intensity management. The logic running through all of it is the same logic that drives urban mining: material that has already been processed once should re-enter production rather than be destroyed. Electronics are simply one of the richest streams to which that principle can be applied.
Engineering services behind the model
Those group services are not abstractions for an e-waste business. Feasibility work establishes whether a recovery route pays before capital is committed. Design and engineering determine how cleanly a mixed feed can be separated. Supply-chain management decides where the recovered fractions go and at what price. Each of them maps directly onto the question every electronics recycler has to answer: can this material be recovered profitably and sold reliably?
Digital traceability
The group also develops KleanLoop, a blockchain-based platform including e-waste tokenization — work aimed at making recovered-material flows traceable rather than assumed. For an e-waste business that is directly relevant: proving where material went is increasingly part of what customers and regulators expect from electronic waste recycling.
What this means for you
When you sell devices to Klean Recycling you are dealing with a business that has industrial backing rather than a standalone collector. Every year up to 140,000 tonnes of electronic waste are disposed of in Canadian landfills and electronic waste is the fastest-growing waste the world creates; addressing that at any meaningful scale takes the kind of engineering and supply-chain capability a group structure provides. Our e-waste recycling work has been featured in a CNN video, and the Klean Group is the reason it can keep scaling.
